Tesla leads German electric vehicle subsidies with over 50 million euros allocated

Tesla is leading the early uptake of Germany's new electric vehicle subsidies, with over 50 million euros already allocated to the program, according to reports on July 18, 2026.
The German government reintroduced state subsidies for electric vehicles about two months ago to boost the market. Tesla is at the forefront of benefiting from these subsidies, with the company leading in the number of applications and funds disbursed.
The total amount allocated so far is over 50 million euros, with Tesla being a major beneficiary.
In Romania, the government has allocated 250 million euros from the Modernization Fund for energy projects. This includes 100 million euros for smart meters and 150 million euros for energy storage projects.
In Vienna, 12 million euros have been allocated for compensation payments for felled trees.
In Austria, the government is expanding the fund for in-vitro fertilization (IVF) treatments, with additional expenditures of 1.6 million euros expected due to reduced co-payments for families.
In Brcko District, 1.4 million BAM has been allocated to help pensioners.
In Italy, 3.5 million euros has been allocated to municipalities.
