Zelenskyys plane nearly hit by drone during Moldova takeoff, Norway PM says

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy’s plane was nearly struck by a drone as it took off from Moldova on Tuesday, Norwegian Prime Minister Jonas Gahr Støre told public broadcaster NRK on Wednesday.
The incident occurred while Zelenskyy was en route to Oslo to attend the funeral of Norway’s King Harald V. Støre did not specify the drone’s origin, its proximity to the aircraft, or the source of his information. “His plane was almost hit by a drone as it was about to take off from Moldova. That is the reality he is facing,” Støre said .
Moldovan officials did not comment on Støre’s statement. However, Chisinau airport temporarily suspended arrivals and departures on Tuesday after two Russian drones entered Moldovan airspace, according to Flightradar24 data. One drone landed in a field, igniting a fire, while the second continued into Romanian airspace .
Zelenskyy arrived safely in Oslo and attended the funeral on Wednesday, marching behind the king’s coffin alongside other heads of state. He left Norway shortly after the ceremony .
