
A Russian military helicopter crashed in the Voronezh region on Thursday, killing all three people on board, according to independent Russian media and local reports.
The crash occurred in the Anninsky district, with the Telegram channel ASTRA and the security-linked outlet 112 both confirming the fatalities. Russian outlet Izvestia later cited sources stating that three people had been aboard and all were killed. The type of helicopter and the cause of the crash were not immediately clear, and Russia’s Defense Ministry had not publicly confirmed the incident as of Friday.
Ukrainska Pravda reported the helicopter was a military Mi-8, but no further details were available. The Voronezh region, which borders Ukraine, hosts several military facilities and airfields used by Russian forces during the invasion of Ukraine .
