Polands used electric vehicle market grows as leasing contracts end and battery checks ease buyer doubts

Poland’s used electric vehicle market is expanding as leasing contracts end and early adopters return their cars to financing firms, according to Michał Dyc of Volkswagen Financial Services. The company, which finances about 80 percent of electric vehicles sold in Poland, has begun receiving vehicles back after multi-year leases, pushing more used EVs into the secondary market.
Battery condition remains the primary concern for buyers, Dyc said. To address this, Volkswagen Financial Services Store subjects each returned EV to a Bosch battery certification, with results typically showing over 90 percent of original capacity. As an example, Dyc cited an Audi Q8 with 89,000 kilometers that retained 91 percent battery health. The company also offers test drives and practical charging tests to reduce buyer uncertainty.
All electric vehicles in Volkswagen Group’s lineup come with an eight-year or 160,000-kilometer battery warranty, Dyc added. The certification and warranty measures aim to reassure customers as the market for secondhand EVs grows in Poland .
