Thursday, August 6Thursday, August 6A Swiss court has extended the pretrial detention of a man accused of drugging and sexually assaulting multiple women, including his former underage girlfriend, between 2017 and 2022, according to a ruling published on Thursday. The Aargau High Court rejected the suspect’s appeal against prolonged detention, citing risks of evidence tampering and repeated offenses, as reported by Swiss public broadcaster SRF .
The case emerged after the man, whose name was not disclosed, challenged the extension of his pretrial detention. Investigators allege he used GBL or date-rape drugs to incapacitate his then-minor girlfriend and at least three other women, filming the assaults and uploading the videos to pornographic platforms. The girlfriend later discovered a hidden camera, which exposed the abuse. The Aargau prosecutor’s office is investigating charges including sexual integrity violations, deprivation of liberty, bodily harm, defamation, privacy breaches, and drug offenses.
The suspect had previously been convicted in a separate case involving sexual acts with minors, according to the court documents. Authorities have not ruled out additional victims, as some video material could not be linked to identified individuals. The prosecutor described the suspect’s actions as part of a “serial-like pattern.”
The man was arrested approximately one year ago, and the High Court’s ruling is not yet final. The investigation remains ongoing, with no formal indictment or verdict issued to date. The case has drawn comparisons to a prior incident in Untersiggenthal, Aargau, though authorities have not confirmed a direct connection .
