Ukraine has intensified its own long-range strikes, launching approximately 400 drones at Russian territory on Sunday, according to open-source intelligence reports . Earlier, a Ukrainian missile strike on Belgorod killed two people and injured 16, while setting fire to seven warehouses, regional authorities said .
Meanwhile, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov declared that NATO’s Arctic Sentry mission and broader military activity in the Arctic pose a “direct threat” to Russia’s security, warning of rising risks of incidents that could trigger armed confrontation . NATO launched the Arctic Sentry operation in February to bolster its presence in the region amid tensions with Moscow .
Ukraine’s Defense Ministry reported updated Russian losses, including 12,316 tanks, 25,255 armored vehicles, and 490,402 drones destroyed since the start of the war . Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said Kyiv is preparing for further talks with U.S. envoys, stating, “We will do everything we can so that war does not remain the only option” .
A Russian drone also struck a high-rise residential building in Zaporizhzhia, injuring two people, including a teenager . In Kherson, a Russian drone hit a medical facility, injuring two staff members .
