Meanwhile, in Brussels, EU policymakers are preparing for a contentious final stretch of 2026, with key debates expected on Russia sanctions, Big Tech regulation, and Ireland’s upcoming EU presidency, according to Bureau Brussels . Negotiations on the bloc’s 22nd sanctions package against Russia are underway, with the European Commission pushing for stricter measures.
