Slovenia’s delegation in Taranto includes 168 athletes across 29 of 32 sports, competing alongside representatives from 26 countries across Europe, Africa, and Asia .
In other developments, the University of Cyprus Formula Student team placed second overall at Formula Student Romania with its student-built Odysseia single-seater. The team, founded in 2019 by mechanical and manufacturing engineering students, now includes over 50 members from various disciplines .
Elsewhere, Estonian shooter Olesja Issatšenkova won gold in the U18 European Championships in Männiku, defeating Poland’s Julia Rochowska in a final decided by a single shot after a 10-10 tie. The victory marked Estonia’s first gold of the event, with Czech shooter Marie Pinosova taking bronze .
Estonian chess player Mai Narva won both the rapid and blitz tournaments at the WR Women’s Chess Tour stage in Maputo, Mozambique. She defeated China’s Zhu Jiner, the world’s No. 4, in both finals, earning €12,000 and a spot in the Grand Final in Stuttgart, Germany, later this year .
