Oslo expands cleanup as human waste found in forests and city centre
Oslo authorities are expanding cleanup efforts after reports of human feces and discarded toilet paper were found not only in the city’s forests but also in urban areas, according to a report published Wednesday.
In August, hikers in Oslo’s Østmarka forest reported encountering piles of human waste, with one user in a local Facebook group declaring a “poop alarm” and stating that “large parts of the area are full of human feces.” Now, the problem has spread to central Oslo, prompting the city to mobilize additional groups for cleanup operations, the report said .
