In Zaporizhzhia, a woman died and 16 were wounded; another woman was killed in Dnipropetrovsk .
In the Odesa region, Russian drones targeted critical infrastructure overnight, damaging a facility and destroying a private home. In the Chernihiv region, a 64-year-old man was killed when his house was destroyed by a drone strike. In the Zhytomyr region, infrastructure and homes were damaged by shelling .
Ukraine’s air defences intercepted 198 Russian drones overnight, according to the General Staff, as part of a sustained campaign targeting both military and civilian sites. In the Sumy region, two civilians were killed and 14 injured over the past 24 hours .
Meanwhile, Ukrainian forces struck five Russian cargo vessels in the Sea of Azov overnight, killing five Azerbaijani crew members and injuring three. The attack targeted vessels in Taganrog Bay, according to reports .
The escalation comes as Moscow continues to deny targeting civilians, framing its actions as strikes against military logistics. Yet the pattern of attacks on food plants, homes, and critical infrastructure suggests a widening campaign with severe humanitarian consequences.
