Latvian Prime Minister Andris Kulbergs said the government must find ways to increase revenues and cut spending to cover planned expenditures, including a rise in national security outlays, in an interview with Latvian Television on Sept. 3.
Kulbergs noted that while his cabinet is preparing the 2027 draft budget, it will be adopted by the next government after the 15th Saeima elections. He did not specify how the additional revenue would be raised but emphasized the need to identify savings and new income sources to fund the security spending increase .
