Türkiyes machinery exports rise to 13.8 billion in first half of 2026: sector growth outpaces 2025

Türkiye's machinery manufacturing industry exports reached $13.8 billion in the first half of 2026, marking a significant increase in the sector's performance, according to data from the Turkish Machinery Exporters' Association (MAİB).
The average export price per kilogram increased by 11% to $8.7. Germany was the top export destination with $1.7 billion, followed by the US with $1.2 billion.
New business formations in Türkiye increased by 9.3% year-on-year in the first half of 2026, with June alone seeing a 31.5% jump compared to the same month last year. Istanbul led the way, accounting for over a third of new firms. Foreign-partnered companies, particularly Syrian and Iranian, made up a significant portion of new businesses.
In the real estate sector, Turkish home sales rose by 15.8% year-on-year to 129,979 in June, driven by a 72.1% surge in mortgage-backed purchases. New home sales climbed by 23.1%, while foreign sales increased by 20.1%, with Russian, Ukrainian, and Iranian citizens leading purchases.
The machinery sector's exports increased by 1.7% compared to 2025.
