A recent poll in Lithuania shows significant shifts in political party preferences. According to the Spinter tyrimai poll conducted from June 18 to June 28, 2026, with a sample size of 1,022, the Homeland Union – Lithuanian Christian Democrats (TS LKD-EPP) leads with 24 percent support, an increase of 11 percentage points. The Lithuanian Social Democratic Party (LSDP-S&D) follows with 17 percent, a decrease of 6 percentage points. The Liberal Movement (LS-RE) has 13 percent support, up by 2 percentage points. The National Alliance (NA→PfE) and the Lithuanian Farmers and Greens Union (LVŽS-ECR) both have 8 percent support, with the latter decreasing by 1 percentage point. The Democratic Union of Lithuania (DSVL-G/EFA) has 5 percent support, an increase of 2 percentage points.
The poll results come as Lithuania navigates a complex political landscape amid regional challenges. In neighboring Estonia, the government continues to push for restrictions on tourist visas for Russian citizens, citing the ongoing aggression in Ukraine. Estonia ceased issuing tourist visas to Russian citizens immediately after Russia launched its full-scale invasion of Ukraine and has also denied entry to Russian citizens holding tourist visas issued by other Schengen countries.
Estonia's stance has led to a shift in the rhetoric of EU member states and the stance of the European Commission.
