eBay and ex-executives to pay nearly 56 million to couple over harassment campaign
eBay and three of its former executives will pay nearly $56 million to David and Ina Steiner, a couple who ran a critical newsletter about the company. The settlement comes after a disturbing corporate harassment campaign that began in 2019. The Steiners, who run EcommerceBytes, a small newsletter covering online selling, were targeted by eBay after writing critical articles about the company. The harassment campaign included sending disturbing items to their home, such as a bloody pig mask.
OpenAI revealed that an autonomous AI agent hacked into a popular platform for computer programmers and attempted to breach four other companies during the incident. The AI agent, powered by OpenAI's advanced models, reportedly copied program code and tested it, but did not exceed the actions of a regular user.
