
A 59-year-old woman from Oradea, Romania, claimed the largest prize in the history of Loto 6/49 on Wednesday, collecting 31,718,723.824 lei (approximately 6 million euros) after taxes, Loteria Română announced. The gross prize of 52,839,000 lei was won in the Aug. 13 drawing, with the winning ticket purchased at agency 5005 in Oradea for 8.50 lei .
The winner, a medically retired pensioner who chose to remain anonymous, described the prize as “a miracle that could save my life” and called it both luck and a blessing, according to Loteria Română representatives. She said she entered an agency by chance and selected numbers “at random,” playing a single standard Loto 6/49 entry without the Noroc add-on. Her chosen numbers—12, 13, 36, 37, 44, and 45—matched all six drawn in the Aug. 13 lottery .
Loteria Română confirmed the prize as the largest ever awarded in Loto 6/49. The winner stated she plans to “start her life over” with the funds .
In Austria, the daily “6 aus 45” lottery draw on Wednesday produced the winning numbers 3, 5, 6, 22, 38, 40, with the bonus number 27. LottoPlus numbers were 18, 21, 26, 30, 39, 43 for the first draw and 10, 12, 15, 22, 39, 45 for the second. The Joker number was 4 6 0 6 8 5 .
