Zelensky’s diplomatic push extended beyond the G7, with a meeting in Brussels with NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte and Belgian officials. Meanwhile, Ukrainian and Brazilian President Lula da Silva discussed potential pathways to end Russia’s war of aggression .
Analysts noted the summit’s unusually productive outcome, with nine joint declarations agreed upon—a rarity in recent G7 history. “This summit has a clear winner: Ukraine,” wrote *Die Welt*, highlighting the bloc’s renewed focus on Kyiv’s defence needs .
Yet scepticism lingers. The *Christian Science Monitor* cautioned that Trump’s shifting stance—from apparent willingness to back Ukraine to ambiguous signals—left Europe wary of over-reliance on Washington . For now, the G7’s show of resolve offers Ukraine a lifeline, but the durability of this unity remains untested.
