Roma thrash Fiorentina 4-0 in Serie A opener as Malen nets hat trick with Dybala assists

AS Roma opened its 2026-27 Serie A campaign with a 4-0 victory over Fiorentina on Monday at the Stadio Olimpico, led by a hat trick from Dutch forward Donyell Malen. Malen scored in the 27th, 52nd, and 60th minutes, with all three goals assisted by Argentine attacker Paulo Dybala, who set up each finish with precise passes .
The fourth goal came in the 86th minute from 19-year-old reserve Niccolò Pisilli, who entered the match in the 79th minute. Portuguese forward Rodrigo Mora, recently arrived from FC Porto, started the match and nearly scored in the 19th minute before being substituted in the 54th. Fiorentina’s Spanish goalkeeper David de Gea made a key save to deny Mora’s early attempt .

Napoli, under new manager Massimiliano Allegri, won 2-0 at Genoa with late goals from Kevin De Bruyne (82nd) and Antonio Vergara (87th). Juventus edged Frosinone 1-0 on a 22nd-minute strike by defender Bremer, while AC Milan secured a 2-1 victory at Torino with goals from Alphadjo Cisse (64th) and Adrien Rabiot (66th) before Che Adams pulled one back for Torino .
Udinese and Como played to a 1-1 draw, with Hassan Kamara scoring for Udinese in the 29th minute and Anastasios Duvikas equalizing for Como in the 54th. Slovenian midfielders Sandi Lovrić and David Pejičić remained unused substitutes for Udinese, while Parma’s Dominik Drobnič was on the bench in his team’s 0-1 loss to Cagliari, decided by Alessandro Romano’s 79th-minute goal .
