Israel carried out airstrikes on the Abu al-Duhur Military Airbase in Syria’s Idlib province on Tuesday, according to U.S. Special Envoy for Syria Tom Barrack, who called the attack an “unnecessary escalation” that does not advance regional stability. Syrian state media reported eight strikes hit the runway of the base, though no casualties were confirmed .

Turkey and the United States joined Syria in condemning the strikes, with Barrack stating Washington was “deeply concerned” and urging all parties to prioritize dialogue over military action. Syria’s Foreign Ministry labeled the attack a “flagrant violation of sovereignty” and warned it threatened regional security .

The strikes came as U.S. envoy Jared Kushner met with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu in high-profile talks on Gaza disarmament. Kushner has been pushing a U.S.-backed plan for Hamas to disarm, which Israel has resisted, insisting on the complete removal of weapons from Gaza rather than their storage under Palestinian control .

Separately, Gaza health officials reported six people, including a child, were killed and at least 13 wounded in an Israeli airstrike on a displaced persons’ camp in Gaza City’s port area. The Israeli military said it targeted Hamas commanders in the Al-Shati district, alleging they were planning attacks on Israeli forces .

In southern Lebanon, the Israel Defense Forces said Hezbollah wounded three soldiers with an explosive drone on the Ali al Taher Ridge on Friday. The IDF responded with strikes near Nabatieh and Ansar, killing Ali Samir al Hajj Hassan, described as a Hezbollah Radwan Force battalion commander, and other operatives linked to the attack .

Meanwhile, in the West Bank, Palestinian-American Loui Abu Ridi confronted Israeli settlers besieging his home in Qusra, south of Nablus. Reports described settlers encircling homes and restricting access to food and water, with Abu Ridi expressing fear for his family’s safety .
