Polish energy sector secured major investments on Thursday as U.S. conglomerate RTX and domestic manufacturer Fabryka Przewodów Energetycznych (FPE) announced expansions tied to production and infrastructure.
RTX, through its Pratt & Whitney and Collins Aerospace units, committed to three projects in Poland totaling $194 million, creating over 430 jobs. Pratt & Whitney Rzeszów President Piotr Owsicki told *Puls Biznesu* the company announced two new investments this year worth $125 million, while a $69 million expansion of Collins Aerospace’s Tajęcín plant was completed in June. The largest new project, a $100 million facility in Rzeszów, will produce advanced rotating components for aircraft engines, with operations starting in 2028 and 120 new positions. A second $25 million investment in Niepołomice will expand production of tubes and pipes for aviation, increasing capacity for over 160 system components. The Tajęcín expansion added 4,000 square meters, boosting output by 25% and adding 190 jobs by 2028 .
FPE, majority-owned by Poland’s Industrial Development Agency, signed a framework agreement with Polskie Sieci Elektroenergetyczne (PSE) for phase conductor deliveries between 2026 and 2031. The contract, valued at nearly 500 million złoty, covers over 13,000 kilometers of cables for high-voltage line construction and modernization, including projects linked to a planned nuclear power plant. FPE President Agnieszka Rupniewska said nine tenders will be issued under the agreement, with the first already announced .
