Shein has set its initial public offering price at 48.56 Hong Kong dollars (5.35 euros) per share, placing it at the midpoint of its marketed range of 47.6 to 49.5 Hong Kong dollars. The fast-fashion retailer will debut on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange on Tuesday, Sept. 1, 2026, after selling approximately 280 million shares to raise 13.597 billion Hong Kong dollars (1.497 billion euros), netting the company 13.214 billion Hong Kong dollars (1.455 billion euros) .
The offering values Shein at roughly 26.5 billion U.S. dollars (22.88 billion euros), a sharp decline from its peak private-market valuation of nearly 100 billion U.S. dollars (86.334 billion euros) in 2022 . The Hong Kong public tranche of 28 million shares was oversubscribed 5.63 times, while the international tranche of 252 million shares was oversubscribed 2.59 times, according to a filing with the Hong Kong exchange .
The listing follows years of delayed attempts to go public in New York and London, which were derailed by political opposition and scrutiny over its supply chain in China . Shein received approval from China’s securities regulator for the Hong Kong listing in July .
The company reported a net loss of 99 million U.S. dollars (85 million euros) in the first quarter of 2026, despite revenue of 9.052 billion U.S. dollars (7.752 billion euros), a 1.1% increase from the same period in 2025 . Growth has slowed due to regulatory changes, including the U.S. ending the de minimis exemption for low-value imports and the European Union imposing taxes on overseas e-commerce packages, which took effect on July 1, 2026 .
Ahead of the official trading debut, Shein’s shares fell by more than 10% in pre-market trading on several brokerage platforms .
