A man remains in critical condition after a three-car collision in Co Meath, Ireland, in the early hours of Saturday, while a separate crash in Co Galway left a motorcyclist dead.
The first incident occurred at Smithstown, near Julianstown, on the R132 road. Gardaí said the initial crash happened at about 2:06 a.m., when one vehicle struck the rear of another. Gardaí appealed for witnesses or those with relevant footage traveling in the area between 1:20 a.m. and 2:20 a.m. to come forward .
Hours earlier, a man in his 30s died at the scene of a single-vehicle motorcycle crash on the N83 road between Claregalway and Tuam in Co Galway. The collision occurred around 11:40 p.m. on Friday. Gardaí and emergency services responded, but the motorcyclist was pronounced dead at the scene. His body was taken to University Hospital Galway for a postmortem, and forensic investigators examined the scene on Saturday morning. The road remained closed with local diversions in place. Authorities urged anyone traveling on the N83 between 11 p.m. and 11:40 p.m. with dashcam or other relevant footage to contact Oranmore Garda Station .
In Helsinki, Finland, a bus collision on the Kehä I ring road injured eight people, one seriously.
