Demi Vollering won the Tour de France Femmes for the second time on Sunday, sealing the overall victory by claiming the final stage in Nice. The 29-year-old Dutch rider, competing for FDJ United-Suez, finished 1 minute and 18 seconds ahead of Poland’s Kasia Niewiadoma, with Italy’s Elisa Longo Borghini in third, 4 minutes and 29 seconds back .

The decisive ninth stage featured four ascents of the Col d’Èze, including a final climb from its steeper side. Vollering began the day with an eight-second lead over Niewiadoma, who had criticized Vollering’s French teammate Célia Gery for interfering with her during Saturday’s stage. On the final ascent, Vollering attacked near the summit, opening a gap that grew to over a minute by the finish, securing both the stage and the general classification .

Switzerland’s Marlen Reusser, third overall entering the stage, crashed on a descent and lost time, dropping out of the podium positions. Lorena Wiebes of SD Worx-Protime won the green jersey for the points classification after securing the intermediate sprint .

Vollering, who also won the race in 2023, took the yellow jersey from Niewiadoma on Saturday after a late attack on a small hill. Niewiadoma had held the lead since Friday’s stage on Mont Ventoux. Vollering’s victory marked the first for a French team in the Tour de France Femmes, with FDJ United-Suez team manager Stephen Delcourt praising her leadership .

After the race, Vollering addressed the controversy involving Gery, who faced online abuse following Niewiadoma’s complaints. “Celia had a really bad night. I’m sure deep down that Kasia knows these kind of things can happen in a race,” Vollering said .

Germany’s Antonia Niedermaier won the white jersey as the best young rider, finishing fourth overall . Vollering’s 2026 season includes victories at the Tour of Flanders, La Flèche Wallonne, Liège-Bastogne-Liège, and the Giro d’Italia .
