Los cuerpos sin vida de un hombre y una mujer fueron localizados durante la noche del sábado 8 de agosto en el interior de su domicilio en Tauste. Ambos presentaban signos de violencia. Desde entonces, la Guardia Civil mantiene abierta una investigación para reconstruir lo ocurrido y determinar las circunstancias en las que se produjeron las dos muertes. Los fallecidos son Javier Sánchez, histórico dirigente de la Unión de Agricultores y Ganaderos de Aragón (UAGA), y su esposa, Esther Latorre. Sus muertes causaron este domingo una fuerte conmoción en el sector agrario aragonés y especialmente en la comarca de las Cinco Villas. Sánchez, agricultor y secretario general de UAGA entre 1999 y 2010, continuaba vinculado a la organización como responsable en las Cinco Villas y presidía la Cámara Agraria de Zaragoza. Latorre, también agricultora y miembro de UAGA, desarrolló buena parte de su actividad sindical en el Área de la Mujer de la organización. Los detenidos han sido arrestados durante la jornada de este lunes y están considerados presuntos autores del doble homicidio. La investigación continúa abierta y los agentes centran ahora sus actuaciones en la inspección ocular del domicilio donde fueron encontrados los cuerpos y en la recopilación de indicios que permitan esclarecer los hechos, según detalla la nota de prensa. Los dos arrestados serán puestos a disposición judicial ante el Tribunal de Instancia de Ejea de los Caballeros. La Guardia Civil no ha informado por el momento sobre el posible móvil del doble homicidio ni sobre las circunstancias concretas en las que se produjeron las muertes.
