Moldovan Prime Minister Vasile Tofan arrived in Kyiv on 26 October for a working visit with a delegation including the ministers of infrastructure, defense, and energy.

Tofan is scheduled to meet Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, Prime Minister Serhii Koretskyi, and Verkhovna Rada Chairman Ruslan Stefanchuk. The Moldovan government said the talks will focus on bilateral relations, economic and trade cooperation, regional security, and European integration .

Tofan and Koretskyi will also attend the Kyiv International Economic Forum, an annual event, and meet business representatives to discuss expanding economic ties. The Moldovan delegation includes Infrastructure Minister Vladimir Bolea, Defense Minister Anatolie Nosatii, and Energy Minister Dorin Junghietu .

The visit follows recent tensions, including a Russian drone violation of Moldovan airspace that prompted President Maia Sandu to expel a Russian embassy official. Ukraine and Moldova have coordinated on regional security and countering Russian hybrid threats .

Zelenskyy has pushed to keep Ukraine’s and Moldova’s EU accession processes linked, though Moldova’s reform progress has outpaced Ukraine’s. The Moldovan government stated that the prime ministers will deliver joint statements after their meeting and lay flowers at Kyiv’s Wall of Remembrance for fallen defenders .
