Navone, ranked 49th, secured the biggest win of his career, calling it “my best day on a tennis court” in post-match remarks. The 25-year-old Argentine, who won his first ATP title earlier this year in Bucharest, will face the winner of Matteo Berrettini and Stanislas Wawrinka in the second round .
The defeat ended Djokovic’s bid for a record 25th Grand Slam title.
