Bayern Munich thrashed RB Leipzig 6-1 on Saturday to claim the Bundesliga summit, with Luis Diaz scoring a hat-trick and Harry Kane marking his 100th league game with a goal.

Diaz opened the scoring in the 12th minute, adding two more in the 47th and 69th, while Aleksandar Pavlovic, Michael Olise, and Kane also found the net. Andrija Maksimovic’s 90th+1-minute strike was Leipzig’s lone reply. The victory, Bayern’s response to two straight draws, temporarily lifted them above Borussia Dortmund, which managed only a 0-0 draw at Union Berlin.

Bayern coach Vincent Kompany, described by the club as “not quite fit,” watched most of the match from the bench rather than his usual coaching zone. Sport director Christoph Freund told Sky that Kompany was “a bit unwell, a bit knocked about,” though he conducted the halftime team talk normally.

The result sets Bayern up for Wednesday’s Champions League clash with Arsenal, with Leipzig next facing Real Madrid in the same competition.
