A rubber boat carrying 38 migrants, including six minors, landed near the Zeeland coast on Saturday morning before being brought ashore in Cadzand.

The group was transferred to the registration center in Ter Apel, according to the Dutch marechaussee . Authorities described the arrival as a unique incident, with investigations ongoing to determine the migrants’ origin .

One adult from the group has applied for asylum, while the minors remain under the care of Dutch authorities . The marechaussee confirmed the presence of the six children among the 38 occupants .
