Borussia Dortmund surrendered a two-goal lead in the final minutes to draw 2-2 with Werder Bremen on Friday in the Bundesliga, with former Dortmund striker Niclas Füllkrug scoring the 90+2’ equalizer at Signal Iduna Park.

Daniel Svensson opened the scoring in the 80th minute, followed by Nico Schlotterbeck’s header in the 85th to put Dortmund ahead. Ludovit Reis pulled one back for Bremen in the 88th before Füllkrug’s late header secured the draw. The result ended Dortmund’s perfect start to the season after four consecutive wins.

Dortmund coach Niko Kovac said his team “gave the game away” after dominating for 88 minutes, calling the result “very disappointing.” Werder coach Daniel Thioune praised Füllkrug as the “X-factor,” noting his decisive role in the comeback. Dortmund captain Schlotterbeck acknowledged Füllkrug’s aerial ability but criticized his side’s late defensive lapses.

The draw leaves Dortmund’s league lead at risk, with Bayern Munich and SC Freiburg poised to overtake them this weekend. Füllkrug, on loan from West Ham, told Sky he was “just happy we leave with a point,” emphasizing his team’s resilience in the closing stages.
