European energy, defense and finance firms reshuffle leadership in Poland, Spain and Estonia

A wave of executive reshuffles swept through European energy, defense, and financial sectors on Saturday, with high-profile leadership changes in Poland, Spain, and Estonia.
In Poland, Leszek Marek Gołąbiecki, the longtime president of construction firm Unibep, announced his departure after 22 years to join PORR Polska as director of the Cubature and Innovation Division. Gołąbiecki, a civil engineer by training, had served as Unibep’s CEO since 2014 before stepping down as vice president in July, citing personal reasons. Meanwhile, Jan Grabowski resigned as vice president of Polska Grupa Zbrojeniowa (PGZ), Poland’s defense giant, where he oversaw maritime projects and international cooperation. PGZ confirmed his resignation in a statement, with CEO Adam Leszkiewicz thanking Grabowski for his contributions. Grabowski is set to take over as president of a state-owned shipyard group in Gdańsk on Monday .
In Spain, BBVA named Manuel Muñoz as its new global head of regulation, replacing Santiago Fernández de Lis, a 15-year veteran at the bank. Muñoz, 39, joins from the Bank of England, where he served as a senior manager in payments and fintech innovation, including work on the digital pound project. He will report to Mario Pardo, head of the newly created Global Institutional Engagement division .
Estonia’s Wallester AS also restructured its leadership, appointing Chief Technology Officer Andrei Gornostajev and Chief Risk Officer Rein Ojavere to its management board. The company simultaneously assigned board member Fred Sooläte responsibility for anti-money laundering and sanctions compliance, citing the need for specialized expertise as the firm scales .
