Harry Kane has signed a new contract with Bayern Munich that will keep him at the club until 2029, the Bundesliga champions announced on Thursday .

The 33-year-old England captain and Ballon d'Or winner extended his deal by two years, with the new agreement expiring shortly before his 36th birthday . Kane joined Bayern from Tottenham Hotspur in August 2023 for a transfer fee of more than €100 million and a salary of around €24 million per season . Bayern acted swiftly to secure him after he was crowned the world's best player .

Since arriving in Munich, Kane has scored 102 goals in 102 Bundesliga matches . He has won two league titles, the 2026 cup and three successive Golden Boot awards . He was Europe's top scorer in the 2023/24 and 2025/26 seasons and has scored 156 goals in 161 competitive matches for the club in total . He is England's record goalscorer with 91 goals from 125 caps .

The new contract pays Kane approximately €24.8 million per year, or about €480,000 per week, according to The Sun . This makes him one of the highest-paid footballers in Europe. He remains outside the top 20 highest-paid athletes globally. That list is led by Cristiano Ronaldo with €264 million in earnings over the past year .

"I feel at home at FC Bayern," Kane said . "I love the club, the fans and the city of Munich. We have a fantastic team." Bayern's honorary president Uli Hoeneß called the striker the "best transfer" the club has ever made .

Kane's previous contract was due to expire in the summer and reportedly contained a release clause of €65 million . The extension means he will remain at the Allianz Arena until 2029 . Kane scored 213 goals in 320 Premier League matches for Spurs, leaving him 47 short of Alan Shearer's record of 260 .

The deal keeps Kane available for England at Euro 2028 in the UK and Ireland, and potentially the 2030 World Cup in Morocco, Portugal and Spain . Former England striker Chris Sutton told BBC Sport that Kane is "more than capable of carrying on for a few years yet, easily" . Sutton added that Kane's finishing "isn't going to be affected in any way by his age" .

The Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung reports that the extension creates a limited window for Bayern to win the Champions League . The squad lacks depth in attack if Kane is injured, the newspaper notes .
