Teenager shot dead in Barcelona park in suspected gang attack
A 15-year-old boy was shot dead in Barcelona’s Parc de la Pegaso on Thursday night in what police described as a targeted attack linked to gang violence, as authorities announced the arrest of a suspect on Friday. Josep Lluís Trapero, director general of the Mossos d’Esquadra, called the killing “a red line of maximum gravity” and vowed that investigators would pursue all leads until those responsible face justice. Trapero and local police officials declined to confirm whether the arrested man was the shooter or played a direct role, but stressed that the investigation is ongoing and involves multiple lines of inquiry. The park, a popular recreational area, has been a recurring flashpoint for gang activity, with authorities acknowledging that certain zones have become frequented by violent youth groups.
In a separate but related development, police in Spijkenisse, the Netherlands, arrested a suspect early Saturday morning in connection with multiple reports of sexual assault. Authorities have not disclosed further details, but the arrest follows a series of incidents reported overnight.

The suspect fled the scene after the attack, which occurred during a dispute among passengers. Police are continuing their search for the individual.
