UEFA has fined the Football Association of Bosnia and Herzegovina 30,000 euros for fan misconduct during the Nations League match against Sweden on October 2 in Zenica.
The penalty breaks down into three charges: 12,000 euros for the use of pyrotechnics, 10,000 euros for displaying messages deemed inappropriate for a sporting event, and 8,000 euros for blocking stairways and passageways in the stands. The match also marked Edin Džeko’s farewell to the national team.
This is the second recent sanction for the association. UEFA had previously fined it 40,500 euros for protocol and crowd behavior issues during a home match against Poland. A suspended sanction was also imposed, requiring the partial closure of the stadium for the next home UEFA competition match if similar incidents recur within two years.
