In Taiwan, heavy rainfall disrupted transport and prompted the cancellation of 63 international flights on Aug. 8 .
China’s state broadcaster CCTV reported that Dolphin traveled approximately 6,000 kilometers before landfall, three times the average lifespan of a typhoon. Forecasters warned of 250-500 millimeters of rain in parts of Zhejiang and Fujian over the coming days, increasing the risk of floods and landslides in mountainous areas and along smaller rivers .
By Monday, the typhoon weakened to a tropical storm, but heavy rain continued to disrupt transport in eastern China, with some cities gradually resuming public services . No fatalities have been reported in China, though state media cited unconfirmed reports of a 9-year-old boy swept away by the sea .
