Russian ballistic missiles struck a Kyiv university campus and surrounding areas on Monday evening, killing at least one person and wounding ten others.

The attack hit the university grounds, nearby Kyoto Park, a metro station, and residential buildings, President Volodymyr Zelensky said in a Telegram post. Rescue operations were ongoing, with reports of people possibly trapped under rubble. Zelensky noted the missiles struck crowded civilian areas with no military facilities nearby, calling it a deliberate attack on the city and its infrastructure.

As of 11:24 p.m. local time, one fatality and ten injuries were confirmed, according to Ukrinform. Zelensky warned of potential repeat strikes and urged faster implementation of air defense support, stating that delays only aid Russian forces. He emphasized the need for partners to provide Ukraine with tools to destroy Russian ballistic missile launchers, calling it the most effective way to save lives.

Zelensky also stressed that Russia demonstrates only a desire to kill and continue the war, and that Ukraine must not be left to face this alone. He concluded by urging partners to stand with Ukraine in protecting lives.
