Limassol police arrested a 30-year-old man early Tuesday in connection with the kidnapping and knife attack of a 24-year-old Turkish Cypriot man, authorities said.

The victim, a 24-year-old Turkish Cypriot, was reportedly abducted from a park in Limassol’s Agios Antonios area on Friday evening. According to the complaint, three men approached him, and after an argument, forced him into their car. He was then taken to an unknown rural location, where he was assaulted and stabbed in the right leg before the perpetrators fled. A passerby later found the victim and took him to Limassol General Hospital, where he was treated for multiple injuries and discharged on Sunday.

Police confirmed the incident on Monday after a friend of the victim reported it. The victim initially claimed his injuries resulted from a car accident but later told investigators the attackers believed he was responsible for dog thefts. The three suspects had previously reported the dog thefts to police but had not named the victim as a suspect.

Authorities stated all three suspects are Greek Cypriots. The 30-year-old was detained shortly after midnight on Tuesday, while police continue searching for the two remaining suspects. Investigations are ongoing.
