Ukraine struck the Proton electronic components factory in Oryol and several other targets across Russia overnight, monitoring channels reported on Saturday.

The attacks hit the Saratov Oil Refinery, which was set ablaze, and the Almaz military factory in Rostov, where a large fire broke out. Explosions were also reported in Belgorod, where Russian air defenses intercepted drones over residential buildings. Local channels alleged that Ukraine used Flamingo missiles in the Oryol strike.

The Proton plant manufactures electronics and components for industrial and military equipment. Ukraine regularly strikes military targets deep within Russia in an effort to diminish Moscow's ability to continue waging its war, the Kyiv Independent reported. Kyiv reported hitting 30 targets in Russia on Wednesday, part of an intensified campaign of long-range strikes on oil refineries and industrial plants that began after a failed U.S.-brokered energy ceasefire.

A separate wave of strikes on Friday night set fire to the Afipsky Oil Refinery in Krasnodar Krai, with additional explosions reported outside the city of Krasnodar. Another wave targeted the refinery in the early hours of Saturday. The details of the attacks could not be immediately verified by the Kyiv Independent.
