Weekend travel in Berlin, Rotterdam, and Prague faces disruptions as construction and repair work closes key transport links.

In Berlin, the S-Bahn’s Ringbahn lines S41 and S42 are suspended between Frankfurter Allee and Landsberger Allee from Friday until 1:30 a.m. on Monday due to unplanned construction, the operator announced on Saturday. Replacement buses serve three stations: under the S-Bahn bridge at Frankfurter Allee, at the BVG bus depot near Storkower Straße, and at a hotel on Storkower Straße by Landsberger Allee. A shuttle train runs every 15 minutes between Frankfurter Allee and Storkower Straße, with departures timed to the minute. The work was not included in advance schedules because it was arranged at short notice. Separately, planned repairs already closed the section between Schönhauser Allee and Landsberger Allee, with buses replacing trains there as well .

In Rotterdam, ProRail will halt all trains to, from, and through Rotterdam Centraal from 1 a.m. on November 7 until 5 a.m. on November 9 to replace the station’s 25-year-old signalling system. The shutdown affects high-speed services to Schiphol Airport and Breda, with replacement buses and metro services arranged. ProRail said the new system will allow future maintenance to close smaller sections of track rather than the entire network around the city. Additional work is planned from November 29 to December 7 between Rotterdam Zuid and Barendrecht, with further bus replacements .

In Prague, tram services on six lines are diverted on Saturday because of roof repairs near the track between Staroměstská and Jiráskovo náměstí. The Staroměstská stop has been moved to Mánesův most, and no replacement transport was provided .
